YAY!! The bench is finally complete!

After two days of working together on the bench it is finally complete and I LOVE it! I think it looks ten times better than it did before :)When we started the project the bench was starting to get really weathered (as it was unprotected from the elements) and it had a couple of planks of wood that were either missing/rotted, this can be seen if you look closely.


First we removed the bad wood and upcycled some planks we saved from a neighbors thrown out bench. The pieces did not fit our bench at first but with a little sawing, and coaxing they soon gave in;) We then scraped all of the loose paint off by hand and then sanded the whole bench down and primed it until we had a nice white smooth surface to work with (Think of it as a new canvas to paint on.)





After this labor of love came the fun part.... the painting! We did three coats of paint on this bench and used special exterior paint for this project, so I don't think the weather will be taking its toll on this bench anymore;)


Now the moment you have all been waiting for.....Ruby the bench! *aaahhem* excuse me a minute folks she is just a little shy....AHEM..I said RUBY THE BENCH!!!!
